We weren’t supposed to be here, but where else would we go?
Maybe it wasn’t such a good idea,
your fingers grazing my inner thighs.
A butterfly's wings sending earthquakes
down my spine.
How could we ignore,
My breath rushing ahead.
Your heart knocking against my chest-
‘let me in’?
It wasn’t supposed to go like this,
But our lips bumped together and my hands stumbled.
And soon I was lost in your valleys,
tumbled head over heels,
rolling down your hills in the afternoon sun.
We didn’t close the blinds.
With the window wide open and our eyes shut tight,
I taunted your breath deeper.
Pinched moans from your lips,
and pushed you and pulled you up and down up and down.
We were running over your rolling hills, racing over mountains,
barefeet pounding,
squelching in the mud,
farther and farther until your body was an elastic pulled so tight and tighter and then finally....
release.
We weren’t supposed to be here,
but where else would we go?
