I want you.

I want you when you are happy. I want you when you are on top of the world. I want to see you smile and feel the heat of your ecstasy. I want to catch your infectious laugh and run with you to the edge of the rooftop and catapult into the sky.

I want you when you are sad. I want to see you cry; to lick the tears from your eyes and taste the salt that defines your depression. I want to watch you collapse into the ocean of your sorrows. When the tide drags you away, I will see your grasping fingertips before they are swept under.

I want you when you are angry. I want to scream into the chasm of rage you have become, and feel you echo right back. I want your fight, your teeth and nails and skin and hair. I want to see your frustration rise and find out how well you control that boiling tar when it bubbles over.

I want you when you feel like nothing. When you are bored and listless and nothing is worth anything. When the sun through your window is cold and beer has no taste, I want to see you. I want to run my fingers over the goosebumps you don’t feel. I want to kiss you when your stomach is empty because your hunger has fled.

I want you all the time. I don’t care if you’re “bad company”. I don’t care if you’re sleepy. I don’t care if you’re throw-things-around-the-room pissy or dizzy-like-you’ve-got-vertigo excited or can’t-sit-down-without-falling-over drunk.
