the girl who thought she could fly
This is a story of a girl who listened
to what people said and then believed them..
she started out with a pool of love, laughter an innocence
held in her by a dam and each destroyed her bit by bit
"you're fat"her friend said and so she starved
"now you're to skinny" and dam started to crumble
'YOU AREN'T GOOD ENOUGH" her mother screamed
her apology wasn't accepted and the pool started to empty
'you're not pretty' these words were hissed
like beauty was the blessing of God and the dam was all but dust
'you only cut for attention" that wasn't true at all
but it made her feel so small and the pool was halfway gone
'you actually thought he loved you?' "just how dumb are you?"
she did not love herself either and the water left her completely
the light inside was smothered and since she had not an ounce of darkness
there was nothing to fill the void she was empty
she felt that her decision was made for here so one day she climbed on a cliff
she did not cry for she had no water she was brave from the start to the end
"angels can fly" she whispered to herself
"maybe I can fly, too" and then she jumped..

Over dit gedicht
They said that she killed herself, but that's not true. We murdered the girl who listened, we drained her and pushed her too. And that was the story of a girl who listened and believed. And she was killed for it, don't let them kill you.
