What makes yóur eyes sparkle ?!
Priceless treasures
- my friend you say - you desire
a cup of muddy white sakè
- I say - makes
mý eyes sparkle !!
[白ç‹]
Waka by ÅŒtomo-no Tabito:
ataï-naki
takara to iu tomo
hito-tsuki no
nigoreru sakè ni
ani masa-me ya mo.
NOTES:
"price-less / treasure(s) (quote) saying friend /
by(< ni) a-cup's / muddied-being sakè /
wow!! acute-eye(s) I-say in-response."
nigori sakè = unfiltered milk-like sakè >
nigoru = be unclear, be muddy >
usually "nigori" is translated into "cloudy"
because of the whiteness of the clouds
making the blue sky unclear,
but literally it's "muddiness > muddy"
and its whiteness goes without saying.
hito- = one, but also: a/an > hitotsu = one single !! [> see below.]
豈 ani = interjection: expression of surprise ("wow!!")
masa - me = " exact/precise - eye" >
益 eki/yaku/masu = benefit; gain; profit; advantage.

I changed the kanji of tomo, yamo, to, no and ni into hiragana,
because the meaning of the kanji in those 5 cases don't make sense:
åæ–¹ > tomo > jippou/ shà fâng = the 10 directions: north, south, east, west,
northeast, southeast, southwest, northwest, above and below.
八方 > yamo > happou/ bâ fâng = the 8 points of the compass; all directions.
跡 (a-)to = trace, remains > jî
乃 no = possessive particle > năi = be, indeed be; you, your;
so, therefore; only then/when.
å°“ ni = you (singular/plural); that. > nÄ = you (singular/plural); one; anyone.

wie könnt' er zu vergleichen sein
