Pruimebloesemleerling. [MB]
Pruimebloesemgeur,
van wie wereldonnozel is
zijn genoegen te winnen.
Plum blossom scent,
from one that hasn't seen the world
your pleasure to gain.
Vertaling/Translation: 白ç‹
[Matsuo-Bashô-896, spring.] [Greeting poem to Sóchû.]
umé ga ká ya / mà nu yò no hitó ni / gyóï wo úru.
of(with a ring of apprehension and anticipation)-plum/apricot
scent , // that(>no) see not world to/from/by-one //
(object:)-your*-pleasure-(or: your will) to-gain.
[* i.e. someone else's.]
[Again, my version completely different from Jane Reichhold's !!
She didn't translate "yo" and failed to notice, that "mi nu yo no"
is a clause to "hito" !! And it's nót "my honour/pleasure", it's
your honour/pleasure" ("honourable thought" as in gratitude")
