In loving memory
The empty chair where you would sit
I still can see you sitting on it
Even though in my lonely nights you're near
Still,… I find it hard to hold my tears
In this feeling of lost, my grief grows
Memories of you I won't let go
Echoes of the past fill our home
In your absence I feel lost and alone
Now memories tell our story bright
But your touch fades out of sight
To still hear your laughter in this space
Gives me strength to hold my place
Though you're gone I need time to heal
In the presence of you that I still feel
In my heart you'll always dwell
In dreams you telling me I'm doing well
I’ll keep our memories as an beacon strong and bright
I hold them close and tight
You were the light glowing in my day and night
Now your absence cuts deep like a knife
In my heart a piece of you stays
Guiding me through the restless days
In every corner, in every sound
Your watching love is all around
Farewell, husband, father, grandfather
Your love for us will always remain
Through the storm, through the rain
Yet our homesick heart can't quite believe
That you are now in the memories we weave
Husband, father, grandfather dear
In memories we’ll keep you near
Though your presence fades unclear
In our hearts, and thoughts, you’ll always here
