True to Yourself

People are quick to judge and quick to say
Their words fly by like birds of prey
People glance but they don't see
All the effort and my pain deep inside me
But I hold my head high and stay strong
I stay on my path where I belong

I wake up stronger every day, you see
But I hide my pain only show the good in me
Nobody is allowed to know the fight inside
I only let them see my smile wide
Some people will try to bring me low
And others will help me rise and grow
So I keep my heart on my own flight
And encourage it to remain in the light

I didn't always loved myself from the start
But I just stay true and follow my heart
And learned with my wing of freedom to soar
To stay true to myself who I am and who I adore
They can try to tear me apart
But I make sure I continue to play my part

Voices and whispers echoes all around
Some of them lift me up some bring me down
But I hold on to what I feel inside
My heart and my spirit are my guide
I hide my worries inside my head
But, you know, I'll rise won't feel threat
Because I am strong and know I ‘am loved
I will fly high above everything like a dove

It is mine journey I just trace the line
I know that in the shadows I still shine
Through all the gossip it will appear
My loyalty to myself will make it clear
There will be no more chains crushing me
My honesty and truth sets me free
Just feeling free and spread my wings wide
Doesn't matter what they say I live with pride
