Volitémus circum fontanam.
-- Reel Around The Fountain ['83] --
-- The Smiths, lyrics by S. P. Morrissey --
Tempus ádest veritatis faténdae
[> Veritas faténda ést]
de modo appeténdi puerum
et quo facto sénuit.
Volitémus circum fontanam
pánge meas nates
te invóco nunc.
Te-cum una quart'hora
haud mihi sÃt negándi
créditur te paenexanimem
et vero in errore súnt.
Te-cum una quart'hora
haud mihi sÃt negándi
créditur te nimis facilem
et dimidio in vero súnt.
De te somniávo heri nocte
et bis e lecto lápsus súm
me stérnas et scándas ut papilio
sed "Dúcas me tui ad clinii tutum !!"
érat res quam numquam dÃxisti
"Paulum lactis !!"
apis genua és
sed item súm.
VÃde me ad fontanam
insére me in hortis
málo id dulciter.
Te-cum una quart'hora
haud mihi sÃt negándi
nemini ad rem pértines
sed mihi ágis.

-- NOTES --
"about how you . . ." > this "you" refers to oneself, and that's why I dropped it !! In the next stanza there's an "I" and an other "you", i.e. an infinitive without the "let's", an imperative and an infinitivus pro optativo > in translation there's a "we" with the adhortative [let's], a singular "you" with the imperative and an "I" with the present tense.
1. "on the patio" [in parte posteriore/aversa aedium > the court at the back of the house]
2. "on the patio" [in atrio > with open roof and a fountain where the hearth used to be]
-- is mentioned twice > the first I dropped, the second I changed into "gardens", "pleasure-garden"
insérere [surculum] > a horticultural referrence !!
[dÃxitur ... fúisse ... érant]
but using a past tense to say something about the present sounds rather silly in Latin !! > so > [dÃcitur ... ésse ... súnt] or > créditur + double accusative
"Paulum lactis !!" [a little milk] >
literally > "Duo frustula sacchari, si ti(bi) plácet !!"'
> ..., sis sic comis [si sÃs sic comis = if you-would-be so friendly]
> ..., sÃs ésse sic comis [si vÃs ésse ... = if you-want/wish to-be ...]
or > "Duo dulcia, sódes !!" [two things sweet, >
according to my dictionary > sódes = si áudes = "if you dare"]
sed item súm [but likewise I am]
sed ita súm [but thus/so am I]
sed idem súm [but the same (masc.) I am]
