Frozen

He laughed as he motionless stood there
as if the world never could care,
as if the world had blown the light
out of the world, into the night.

He laughed with a sign of apathy
as if the world he knew was empty,
as if he could endlessly swim
in an ocean that would never love him.

He laughed no more as he cried.
He couldn't take anymore when he tried.
He couldn't take anymore anyhow,
and that's the pain he lives with now.
