Ruins

In all her hope and glory,
She stood there,
Looking at what was left,
Of her once so beloved home.

Fallen, what had once been majestic,
Minor, what had once been great,
Empty, what had once been mysterious,
Painful, what had once been charming.

She wipes a single tear,
Out of the corner of her eyes,
Lifts her head once again
And walks away as if nothing
Had happened to her heart.

But deep down inside,
The ruins of the castle,
Completely destroyed,
Are a sight that breaks
Her heart over and over...
