Senseless violence

senseless violence again
and everybody shout
but only one hand
is reaching out

it was my hand
I helped with the risk of my life
had lots of hits on my face
but the victim survive

later I asked myself
they all had eyes to see
why only one person helped
and that person was me

now I still believe
that if one heart still holds on
then the hope to banish senseless violence
is never really gone
