Ritual from the Heart
Laying in my bed on a cold winter night
Thinking and dreaming about all that is alright
About how you unleashed the fury in me
That now keeps burning, the way it’s meant to be
About just our future no matter how bizarre
Or just the way you were and just the way you are
About how you covered me in a creepy fright
‘cuz losing would be too hard for me inside
This poem is a ritual that goes through my head
Every day over and over, each time I go to bed
But the wish is yet to come, at the end of every day
Just before dreams take over my mind, I’ll say:
I Wish,
That we will be eternally
connected by the strongest bond.
And stay that way in the here and now,
and in all that lies beyond.
