my name is Arthur
and I am seventeen
but I have been through
a lot more than you've ever been

I've felt the cold embrace
I felt the life slipping away
I've seen the gates of death
before I was pulled back in the fray

I saved some lives, lost some friends
the stakes were higher than the demands
but now it is time I close the book
a little break-up was all it took

the life is slipping once more
soon there is the girl I now adore
life has given what it had in store
as behind me I close the door
